Happy "Heart" Day!

Happy Valentine's Day all! Today is one of those holidays that I love, love, love. I love the pinks, reds and whites that embody Valentine's Day...the candy hearts...the puffy pink marshmallows that fill my pretty, glass apothecary jars...and most of all of love that I have a big Valentine and a little Valentine to share it with :-) We have been studying God's loyalty/love to & for us in our Sunday school class. (Btw we LOVE our class...couldn't ask for a better group of folks to open the Word with each Sunday!) Our recent lesson was out of Hosea and talked about the ways God demonstrates loyalty to His children and how in return we respond back. In Hosea, God loves the unlovely. He instructs Hosea to have a wife who is unfaithful and not worthy of his love. There are so many parallels to this relationship just like our relationship with God. Here is some scripture that I have been meditating on: " Come, let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, and He will heal us; He has wounded us, and He will bind up our wounds. He will revive us after two days, and on the third day He will raise us up so we can live in His presence. Let us strive to know the Lord. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the land." Hosea 6:1-3- He is out ultimate Valentine. His love endures forever & ever & ever. Our lesson in our "Life Matters" study explains, " It wasn't Hosea's love for Gomer but his love for God that enabled him to endure all that he did. God's love and loyalty to Hosea allowed him to endure and obey even the toughest requests that came from His friend, His Father, His God." Thanks be to God!

Unfortunately, we are all battling sickness at the moment...yuck..nasty...gross colds and the list goes on. Hadley has a nice, little ear infection that has reared it's head. Mommy can't rest because she has been tending to little bit all day long. Oh I need some goooood sleep. So...we will be spending our Valentine's Day evening with lots of hot tea and kleenex. The true meaning of "in sickness and in health" comes to light, right? ;-)
